Datatag’s Police Liaison Team’s strength has been bolstered by the news that Tim Booth, widely accepted across the UK and Europe as the leading expert on leisure vehicle matters, has joined as a specialist consultant. Tim will work to support and develop the existing Police Liaison Team and advise them on all security issues affecting leisure vehicles.
Tim has served forty-seven years with the police, most recently as the NaVCIS Leisure Vehicles Officer. He has been awarded a Deputy Chief Constables Commendation for his ‘dedication and professionalism’ in reducing leisure vehicle crime. In addition, in recognition of his knowledge in the field of leisure vehicles and his continued outstanding contribution to the global fight against vehicle crime, he was awarded the 2023 International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) of Auto Theft Investigators (UK Branch) President’s Award.

Tim, who will provide his expertise and knowledge, said, “Although I have now stepped away from my role at NaVCIS, I am of course excited by the prospect of working with Datatag and being afforded the opportunity to continue to support Police Forces, Insurers, and Manufacturers in reducing crime associated with leisure vehicles and advising consumers how they can best protect their leisure vehicles.”
With the increasing issue of caravan and motorhome theft in the UK, Tim’s experience and knowledge will be invaluable in compiling in-depth reports on the matter, helping inform police strategy to address the issue affecting thousands each year.
Tim is a UK Home Office-qualified trainer, and his market knowledge will complement the IMI-accredited courses that Datatag’s Police Liaison Team has already delivered.
