Datatag ID Ltd, the UK’s leading provider of forensic marking and asset identification solutions, is proud to announce its role as Platinum Sponsor of the upcoming Combined Industries Theft Solutions (CITS) Annual Conference, taking place at JCB’s prestigious Global Headquarters in Rocester.
The annual CITS Conference is a key event in the fight against organised equipment and machinery theft and this year’s theme, “National Infrastructure Challenges,” will focus on the threats facing the UK’s critical infrastructure projects from criminal activity, and how industry leaders, law enforcement, and security providers can collaborate to protect assets and reduce disruption.
As Platinum Sponsor, Datatag will showcase a range of cutting-edge technologies and initiatives that are already making a significant impact in reducing theft across the plant, agricultural, and construction sectors. At the forefront of this effort is the CESAR Scheme – the UK’s official security and registration system for machinery, developed and supplied by Datatag and owned by the Construction Equipment Association.

With close to 700,000 CESAR systems having been supplied to major brands, including machines from manufacturers such as JCB, Kubota, and Manitou, CESAR has been instrumental in reducing theft rates, with machines shown to be four times less likely to be stolen and six times more likely to be recovered when protected.
Datatag will also highlight its new RAPID police app, an innovative on-line tool that allows police and enforcement officers to instantly identify CESAR-registered machinery in the field. The app provides real-time access to ownership data, improving recovery rates and supporting frontline investigations.
Another key focus at this year’s conference for Datatag will be it’s newly launched Power Tool Security System, aimed at protecting smaller, high-value tools increasingly targeted by criminals. Using the same layered approach as CESAR, the system combines high-visibility warning labels, Datadots®, and forensic DNA to give each tool a tamper-proof, traceable identity.
This new solution supports both individuals and businesses in safeguarding their tools and allows police to trace stolen property back to its rightful owner – vital in securing prosecutions and disrupting organised theft networks.
Kevin Howells, Managing Director of Datatag, commented:
“We’re proud to continue our support of CITS and to sponsor this important event. As the UK faces increasing challenges in protecting critical infrastructure, the role of proven, effective theft deterrent systems like CESAR is more vital than ever. We’re looking forward to engaging with industry and enforcement leaders to share how our technology is making a real-world difference.”
Datatag’s continued innovation and collaboration with police, insurers, and equipment manufacturers reinforces its position at the heart of the UK’s battle against machinery theft.
Attendees at the CITS Conference will have the opportunity to see live demonstrations, learn more about CESAR and the RAPID app, and speak directly with Datatag experts about securing both large machinery and smaller assets on infrastructure projects nationwide.
