Datatag Recovery Bulletin – December 2017

The Christmas break was no time to take an eye off vehicle crime and Datatag continued to support the Police in identifying and recovering thousands of pounds worth of goods.

The Metropolitan police were busy over the festive season with not one but three motorcycles found, identified as stolen and recovered. This included a very nice Yamaha MT-09 Tracer hiding on false plates but easily identified using one of Datatag’s RFID scanners and the unique hidden Datatag transponders which are fitted as part of the industry’s own MASTER Security Scheme. This machine is now heading back to its true owner.

In Scotland police apprehended a youth riding a KTM 85SX antisocially, and used the Datatag markings on the bike to make one call to the Contact Centre to discover the bike as being recorded as stolen. Both bike and rider were detained! Police Scotland Officers also used the Datatag Secure Contact Centre to identify a suspected stolen Yamaha YFM700R. Just one call and it was #caseclosed

Police in Tayside have been busy with the recovery and identification of stolen plant including JCB and Thwaites – both stolen from local Plant Hire Companies but now back where they belong.

Overall these stories demonstrate that Datatagged items are easily identified using Datatag technologies – which is exactly why so many companies and industries trust us to protect their assets.

Official industry schemes; CESAR, MASTER and Compass now protect nearly 500,000 items and more are added each and every day.
