The 2020 race season looked so promising back in March when we were ready to chase race wins, titles and championships. Coronavirus quickly changed those plans, but thankfully we have started racing again and the team could not be happier!
Our second Schwalbe British 4X event took place at Harthill in Cheshire on Sunday and we were ready to chase the race win. Arriving on Saturday, the weather was unbelieveable. Torrential rain, gale force winds and a pretty grim day meant that we set up the team tent but Scott decided to not ride the track and save himself for Sundays race day.

Arriving back at the track on Sunday, the weather was incredibly different. Blue skies, sunshine and zero wind would provide perfect conditions for racing, however the damage to the track had been done during Saturday’s storm! The track was saturated and it was going to remain pretty muddy for most of the day. No problem for us though as our Schwalbe Dirty Dan tyres are simply supreme in these conditions so Scott was feeling confident.

Practice went well. The track was very tricky as all the jumps were rutted making it a tough track to perfect, but Scott was nailing it well and looking fast.
Racing began just after 12 and Scott had 3 qualifying races to whittle down the elite field to the fastest 4 riders in the final.
In all 3 motos, Scott made perfect gates and won all 3 races from start to finish. He looked like he was riding in the dry and he was making it look way easier than it was.

In the final, Scott took his favourite gate 1 and looked focused. The gate dropped and Scott made a perfect gate. He railed the first turn like it was dry and carried a lot of speed in the top few turns. Heading into the middle section of the track, Scott was flying and he launched over the pro line jumps with ease. Into the final corners, Scott kept the hammer down and crossing the finish line, he had a 10 bike length lead!! A perfect lap just when he needed it gave him a perfect day, going unbeaten.

Socially distanced podiums took place in the finish area without any spectators and then it was time to pack up our Surf & Turf team tents and head home.
We just want to take this opportunity to thank all our team sponsors for their continued support in 2020. Now we are finally racing, it feels great to be winning and giving back to everyone as much as we can.
